John Johnson

Founder & CEO

JJ has over 20 years’ experience in technology executive search. This includes hiring several Group CIOs at financial institutions such as JPMorgan and Barclays, where he ran MD and Director hiring for the past 10 years. His early career was on the agency side as a Partner in global search firms and since 2012 he has been an MD running high performing in house recruiting teams. His understanding of the candidate market as well as the internal issues facing clients is invaluable when solving talent acquisition challenges. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion JJ is recognized as someone who has made an impact in this space for his clients.

Rosie de Pelet

Executive Search

Rosie leads the Executive Search Practice focusing on MD Hiring. Her SME is in Engineering, Product and AI, however she has delivered on assignments across a broad range of corporate / control functions. Previously Rosie was at Goldman Sachs where she Co-Headed the Global Executive Search team, with specific responsibility for all MD and Partner level hiring across Engineering, Operations and Controls Functions. She also spent 8 years at JPMorgan Chase in New York and London, focused on Technology, Digital, Data Science & Analytics senior hiring. Rosie began her career at the executive search firm, Marlin Hawk.

David Burke

Emerging Leaders

David has been with Propulsion since it’s origination and has been instrumental in developing the Emerging Leaders and Talent Pipeline products. David began his career on the agency side before moving in house with Infosys to lead recruitment for EMEA, and later Barclays in Technology Executive Search. He is skilled in building and executing recruitment strategies for clients looking to grow strategic locations, or source hard to find skill sets, including AI. His track record spans Engineering, Product, Digital, and Platform Operating Model transformations. Based in London he has executed searches in US, UK, Europe and Asia.

Simon Jones

Banking & Payments

Simon is a seasoned HR and executive search professional with over 25 years’ experience in talent acquisition, leadership advisory, and succession planning. He leads the Banking and Payments Practice and has extensive networks from his time at Citigroup and most recently Barclays where he led Executive Search across the US Consumer Bank, Private Bank & Wealth Management, Corporate Banking, and Barclays UK. His understanding of this rapidly evolving and space and his expertise in engaging, assessing, and securing top‑tier talent has proven invaluable to clients. Simon is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and the Institute of Directors.

Natalie Lopez Peña

Lead Coordinator

Natalie Lopez Peña is the Lead Coordinator at Propulsion talent, a role she held at Goldman Sachs Executive Search until 2025. Natalie’s commitment to operational excellence, candidate and client experience, responsiveness and integrity underpin everything she does. Throughout her career, Natalie has supported large-scale HR operations and high-volume hiring for organizations including the Army and Air Force. Her expertise spans benefits administration, payroll processing, and full-cycle recruitment, as well as employee relations. Natalie holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ana G. Méndez and a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of Puerto Rico.

KATE LOBB

CFO/ COO

Kate is an accomplished financial and operations executive with more than 20 years of experience leading accounting, audit, and operational excellence initiatives for JPMorgan and SEI Investments. A Certified Internal Auditor and Investments and Derivatives Auditor, Kate has a proven track record of building efficient systems, strengthening financial integrity, and driving organizational performance. Prior to Propulsion Kate was an Executive Director in Operational Due Diligence at JP Morgan Alternative Asset Management, working closely with hedge fund managers. Kate is passionate about creating operational best practices that empower teams, promote transparency, and position organizations for long-term success.
